Collective debt settlement

For:
  • citizen
  • enterprise
  • lawyer

Are you as a citizen no longer able to pay your bills and having to deal with multiple creditors? You or your representative can apply for a collective debt settlement via the Just-on-Web and manage the file at any time.

A collective debt settlement ensures that you can pay off your debts in a structured manner. In such a settlement, the court appoints a debt mediator to manage your income and formulate a plan to pay off your debts. In this way you are protected against your creditors.

You can also visit this page as a creditor. Just-on-web provides you or your representative with access to a personalised digital platform. As a creditor, you can link yourself to various files and submit various claims. This provides you with a clear overview of all pending claims, their status and keeps you informed of what you still need to do.

Apply for a collective debt settlement as a debtor

Are you as a citizen no longer able to pay your bills and having to deal with multiple creditors? Request support with repayment of your debts using the 'Central Register for Collective Debt Settlement' on Just-on-web. Here you can prepare an application step-by-step to apply for a collective debt settlement in the labour tribunal of the district where you live.

You must provide some details such as income, expenses, assets, debts, creditor(s) and any guarantor(s). The application can also be submitted by your representative (e.g. your lawyer or administrator) or an employee of a social institution such as the CPAS or CAW.

The court will appoint a certified debt mediator if your application is accepted. The latter will formulate a repayment plan and manage your income for a period of maximum seven years. During this period, you will receive a living wage which will continue to guarantee you and your family a dignified existence. Together with your debt mediator, you will work towards a debt-free life.

Manage your claims as a creditor

First things first. As a creditor, you must have an account at www.regsol.be. You can create one account for each company number. Were you already a creditor in an insolvency case at a Belgian enterprise court and do you already have an account? Then you can just continue using this account. You can monitor both your insolvency files and collective debt settlement files on a single platform.

Within your account, you can create groups for both types of files and manage access rights. Each person can only manage the files belonging to their group(s).

If you are involved in a collective debt settlement file as a creditor, you will receive a digital invitation to be linked to this file. Those who do not yet have a Regsol account will receive a letter containing a code to first complete the account registration. You can also decline the invitation to link or transfer the file to a lawyer.

As a debtor
Has the court approved your application? Then you, your representative and other involved parties (e.g. your spouse or legally cohabiting partner)will be provided with access to your digital collective debt settlement file.

Here, you can consult an overview of submitted claims  and track the status of your file via a handy timeline. You can upload additional documents and communicate with the other parties (e.g. creditors, debt mediators or lawyers).

As a creditor
You can also go here as a creditor. On the personalised platform you can find, among other things, a list of all pending collective debt settlement files. The list shows the status of the files and whether you have any urgent deadlines. In this way you can immediately see what you need to do when, and perform necessary actions via the platform.
